Tattoos & piercings, yep, I'm hooked on those things. I'm getting the urge to do something again, was a while since last time... though I need to keep calm for a moment (I'm planning on probably getting a pair of skin divers in my neck in less than a month) also, I want to get a tattoo on my wrist sooner or later... I've wanted to for a long time, but just about recently a few good pictures have started to form in my head... but it'll be a while until it's time for that. Anyway, just in particular I'm just curiously tossing around the thought of a inner lip tattoo in my head for the moment, haha... hidden on the inside of your lower lip, like this one: it's nothing but an entertaining thought I was thinking of getting a frenlulum linguae piercing (underneath the tounge) earlier this morning but I scrapped the idea before the day was over, haha Question is - if say, theoretically, I was going to get an inner lip tattoo... idk what it would say. I've got a centered labret piercing as of now which takes up some space, so it cannot be something big or centered anyway... I'm thinking a plain star to the left would be pretty (: I love stars. But it's still kinda boring, haha I thought about a simple fish with legs too, one of my favourite doodle subject... but idk if that'd look good. Haha got any ideas or thoughts? Or what's your opinion on tattoos & piercings in general? Got anything yourself that you'd like to share? x) the topic is open for discussion

Haha, I've just gotta wonder how much an inner lip tattoo would hurt. ; Looks pretty awesome, but geez. Hmm, maybe if you snazzed up the star a tiny bit. More than one star, a border on the star, small stars around the star somewhere, something like that. Iunno. As for my own ideas, I rather like how tattoos look, but I'm petrified of needles. XD I sort of prefer abstract things and tribal whatnots to pictures, you know? I sort of had some ideas for ones I'd like to get, but with how so many people say that you'll hate the thing in ten years, I decided I would wait five and see if I still liked it. ...I've been thinking about being branded lately, actually. ._O Somehow being burned to the point of scarring sounds like it would freak me out less than having needles in me. XD

Honestly, I think getting an inner lip tattoo is a poor choice if only because it'd rarely be seen. xD And for it to be seen you'd have to show it off just like in the picture. I dunno, seems pointless to me. -shrug- As far as tattoos go though, some of my favorites are ear tattoos. For instance, Love that. (( Big picture, sorry. ))

I really like tattoos, but until recently I never gave them much thought, aaannd even now that I appreciate them I can't say that I've given much of any thought on getting one myself.
Not that it would do me much good, anyways. I'm 17.
As far as piercings go.. xD I'm rather fond of them, but I think that some piercings only suit some people, and sometimes piercings wouldn't suit someone at all. Like, say, my brother James. He's got that smooth look about him so a piercing would ruin it.
I myself have two studs on each ear, but I don't planning on getting anything else. .. Don't think a nose stud would suit me and piercings on my upper ear would just be a pain. I also chew on my mouth a lot so I doubt anything in that area would be a good idea, nor would it suit me much since I'm more of the cute type. XD
uhh.. yep. owo Some people also just go over board when it comes to piercings. Or gauges for that matter. They work up to those huuuge honking ones.. -tips head- and to be honest I don't see how that's appealing at all. Gauges are really nice, but putting huge disks in your ears??
hmn..

Haha about that lip tattoo.... This is not the first time I've looked it up, I've asked people before and they said it didn't hurt at all not that it matters, I don't mind pain Thing is, that if I -theoretically- would get one.... I like plain stars, so I don't think I'd need a border or more details too it... besides, it's such a small area anyway so it doesn't leave much room for details but most importantly, in case I'd get one it would certainly not be done by a proffessional xD so I wouldn't think of something too snazzy or complicated. My thoughts behind getting one on the lip is that it is, firstly of course, a cool place to get a tattoo on and I've always thought of it since I first saw one years ago. Second of all - I don't think it's pointless that it's a "hidden" tattoo, I think it's quite the opposite! First of all, since the fact it wouldn't be done by a proffessional... yeah, I could easily hide it if it isn't 100% well done everyone says it fades after a few years too, so... Besides DON'T READ THIS KIDS but I'm still under 18 too, so I would be able to hide it for my parents (: and thirdly - I already have two homemade tattoos... I think this would be a good step - homemade>homemeade with machine>(and later on) proffessionally made tattoo I wouldn't consider paying any high sums of money for such a small and unnecessairy tattoo, no. But a good friend of mine in my class owns a tattoo, machine, so... If any - she'd be the one to do it. I need to make sure I trust how she is handling it before asking for anything though, haha it'll most likely never happen, but it's an entertaining thought. She have promised to shwo me how it works at least... if I'm lucky I maybe get to handle it by myself! Yes, I realize how this sounds... very.... childish and stupid and unproffessional (: but what the hell, gotta be young and stupid while you are young and stupid. Opti - well if you're insecure of your picture choice it would be wise waiting a few years and still see if you like it (: but don't let others scare you off too much! Sure you change opinions over the years, but if it feels really good getting one while you're doing it... I believe it will feel good 10 years later too, just remmeber that was what you wanted and loved/appreciated while you got it. It would at leats be a good reminder of good old times (: And branding? eep, sounds scarier than needles to me xd but sure, why not... it gives similar results to scarification, right? or am I wrong? I could imagine it's a lot quicker process though @kat - Haha I've never been quite fond of ear tattoos myself xD just not my piece of cake, I guess but sure, I believe it could be pretty with the right picture (: do you have any knowledge on how long they'd last, though? are they like "regular" tattoos? and I think the right piercing would suit cute girls too c: I like these assymetrically placed small labret ones some people have, they're sweet but haha yeah, it's all about personal opinions I guess :> I don't like it much when people go too overboard with piercings either, but I think there's a fine line between having many good piercings and just having too many piercings. Some people actually look really good in bigger gauges if you ask me, but, that's only a few there's a very fine line between that too, haha. LONG POST IS LONG

XD It's really all about preferences. .. And no, I don't really know anything about ear tattoos or how long they last. I just like them. -shrug- If I ever actually think about getting one then I'll look into it more, but not until then.
aaaaaahh. XDDD I have a thing for asymmetrical. lol. I doubt that it'd be a good idea for me to get one like that though. I'd never leave it alone. -sweatdrop-
Very true. owo Although I've never seen anyone around where I live that looks good with the bigger gauges. .. Then again, it might just be me. But I won't know that until I see one of these good looking ones.

XD The main one I was considering's gotten through half the five-year period, and I see no reason why I shouldn't get it, as it means a lot to me, but it's abstract and simple enough that the meaning can change if the previous meaning goes away. -googles scarification- O: Wow, intense stuff there. Whoosh. I don't think I could have a design cut into me or anything. That's a bit /too/ painful. XD; Anyways, branding seems to be listed as a version of scarification, so I guess so. XD And it does sound rather scary to me too, but a bit more enjoyably so. I dunno. XD

YOU SHOULD GET ONE THEN I BET YOU'D LOOK GREAT IN IT but then again, I have a friend who's biting hers all the time... got a chip off her tooth :B she's very nervous though and bites her nails & clothes too etc You could always... take it out if you fear it damages your teeth too much xD and I we had a girl in our class previously who had 25mm gauges and I thought it fit her so well... but she had the rest of the style and personality to it, too Actually, I'm pretty set on the choice. XD That sounds great :0 being so sure about the picture.... gets me curious, what is it? tell meeee Scarification is a bit too extreme for me, too nullification is worse though, which is... basically you cut of parts of your limps (toes, fingers most commonly) on purpose... eep. I personally haven't seen all too many sorts of branding/scarification that I've thought -WOWthatsamazing- as I've seen tattoos, so... I'd rather get a tattoo :] Branding is probably quicker and less painful than scarification, but yeah.... having that heal up, ouch :x

AHHHH i can't read all of this yet so I'm just going to say i love piercings (with the exception of cheek piercings), and i like some tattoos.
first off, i want two facial piercings. i want one nose stud (or a septum piercing, depends), and on hoop on the center of my bottom lip. i also want cartilage piercings, but my mum only has let me get three regular earings... well, actually, she let me get 8 gauges. i can't go any bigger atm fffff she doesn't like them. but yeah i kinda have a piercing fetish >>;
as for tats, i only like certain ones. Most tats look way too cluttered and that just makes them look bad in my opinion. i want about one-two tats, one of a phoenix on my shoulder, and maybe like a hip/lower arm tattoo. i don't know about the second one so much but i am going to get the phoenix... but the thing is, the phoenix will be /just/ the phoenix, because i don't like cluttered tattoos. well, actually, i may have a sparkle trail that swirls down my back, but that will be spread out and whatnot so it won't be cluttered.
but yeah, that's just me. i personally like shoulder, back, face, hip, chest, and lower arm tattoos. simple sort of stuff, too.
plrrrrr also i was considering if i lose weight sometime i'll get nipple piercings. yep, i like dem things. it would be so hilarious.

That sounds great :0 being so sure about the picture.... gets me curious, what is it? tell meeee Haha, like I said, it's simple, so sorry if this wasn't as awesome as you thought ; But I was thinking of getting a sort of double spiral on each shoulderblade. A purple-to-blue spiral with a yellow-to-gold spiral on the inside. I might draw it up properly sometime. XD But, yeah. When I got the idea, it meant one thing, and by now it means like three other things to me. All sort of personal, hard-to-explain things, but still. Yeah. ; Simple, but means a lot.

But hey, not everyone have troubles with them, so it's not like... dangerous. But it is of big improtance to do them correctly and take care of them and 8mm? GAUGE BUDDIES -high five- are you planning on going much bigger than that later on? I have 8mm too, and am pretty comfortable with it for the moment.. pretty sure I'm going to take them up to 10 in a not all too distant future though, but I doubt I'll go much further than that. but hey, you never know... I've said the same with my previous sizes I like your tat ideas too... and I agree, some tattoos seem just too cluttered... I like somewhat plain deisgns too, but.. as long as the tattoos are done proffessionally and the details are well made, I don't mind much of the clutter... although I can imagine the ones with lots of smaller details will not look as good in 10-20 years (but who cares about such details in the distant future anyway?) hips & lower arms are sexy/lovely tatto placements, yep yep c: and shoulders are of course great too, one of my personal favourites.. and yum, chest pieces are lovely personally not too fond of facial tats though... for me - face and hands, keep clean. and lol personally nipples are not my favourite type of piecring, but they're kinda charing in their own way, haha xD and that about losing weight.... if I'd ever get a flatter belly I'd probably want to pierce my belly button xD just because just a very small, very simple, plain barbell. I "accidently" pierced my bellybutton once earlier, so if I'd ever pierce it I'd do it myself, too... I have a piercing needle and jewellery ready, just in case xD That sounds great :0 being so sure about the picture.... gets me curious, what is it? tell meeee Haha, like I said, it's simple, so sorry if this wasn't as awesome as you thought ; But I was thinking of getting a sort of double spiral on each shoulderblade. Yeah. ; Simple, but means a lot. lol I didn't think of it as any less awesome sounds like it could turn out really good. You could probably make a very esthetically pleasing design, with it still being plain and simple... but still has a lot of deeper meaning to yourself, without getting too symbolic. If you'd ever draw it out one day - show usssssssssssss or me at least!

Does anyone know anythign about labret lip hoops btw? I found out about them just after I got my lip pierced and have always wanted to try having one... I bought one online in a batch of other piercing jewelleries but it didn't fit well at all ): I think it was way too long on top od the lip... for some reason it's really really hard to find pictures of people with them though? so maybe I'm not.. the only one with that problem I think it's really really hot when someone have pierced their lip with a vertical centered banana barbell... so nice! But I can imagine it hurts a lot and is very... impractical. The lip hoop should give the illusion of a banana barbell... without having to get one (although the lip hoop most certainly would do a greater damage to your teeth.) pictures: Lip hoop (I think?) (jewelery)Vertical barbell (jewelery)
