I think this is more art-related then general.. oh well, if not, this section of the forum looks a little less empty (:
So, yup. This again. Like pretty much everyone else around here, I'm an artist, and it's good for artists to show off their work somehow, right? If not for commerical/business related reasons, at least for personal reasons... it's good to have some artwok up, show your face to the world and maybe receive critique/appreciation to be able to improve and gain confidence as an artist.
Problem is, where? I've tried Deviantart, Sheezyart, forums in general and oekakis, but it's still...... a little too social for me.
I'm curious about how sites as tumblr, flickr and blogspot would work as an art-type of blog I like the idea of it being closed and personal... but still not as "off" as a whole personal website would be.
Do anyone have experiences with any of these websites or similar/other? What types of websites do you prefer/use, or are there better ways? tell meeeee/discuss

Well... the only other place I put my artwork on is facebook. I mean, if you don't want to really socialize with people, you could just put your stuff on a blog and people could comment away and you don't got to respond, really (though you don't have to on other sites so I don't know ; .

mm yeah, I'd never put anything on facebook, it'd be too personal and channeled directly to people around me... which would creep me out xD;;; so yeah, I think trying out one of these blog-like websites would be good tumlblr, blogspot & flickr are kind of.. such. just wondered if anyone had experiences with them :>
I'm really thinking about trying out blogspot (or are they called blogger?) but idk I'll talk to mah BFFlol about it maybe she would be interested to start something with me

Oh, you know, I've heard of a lot of artists using tumblr recently, though honestly I have no idea what tumblr is. xD

Tumblr is kind of... mainly a type of image-blog? very free and people are free to post whatever they want basically... so yeah, there are a bunch of different "types" of blogs to follow it's pretty much called the home of hipsters, lesbians, and kittens.... because that makes up a big amount of the content on there lol Most people just use it as a chill-personal blog and reblog (yeah, that's the main thing about it.. you see something you like? just reblog and it'll show up on your page.. it's pretty much just about spreading nice stuff) whatever they like, while some focus on... anorexic, sexual or gore themes (yes those are very popular) BUT some people actually use it as art blogs but..... yeah. If something's pretty good I think it could spread pretty good if you have enough followers... but idk I think tumblr is more of a race for popularity
